Short Court (Levee ) Sword Overall length 31.5" 80cm Blade length 24 " 61cm approx No visible maker's mark but blade has small traces of decoration remaining. Blade is in good polish with a couple of very small isolated blemishes. The guard and knucklebow are highly decorated with a design matched on the chape nd collar of the leather scabbard. The pommel is an elegant pierced sphere which matches the pierced design of the handguard. The handle is wound with alternating coiled wire and gilt strips- these are a little loose but intact. The handle has a little movement on the tang but the blade is fast. Please see the photographs as written description cannot do this beautiful sword the justice it deserves.

1796 Pattern British Infantry Officer's Sword 1796 Pattern British Infantry Officer's Sword This sword is in need of some restoration. The blade is dirty and there is some rust and pitting - also the edge of the sword has nicks and is rusty, This is of course reflected in the price.

1822/47 Bayonet This bayonet fits the 1822 French musket. These were used in both the Crimea and the American Civil War, some bayonets of this type were made again in 1847. This bayonet has a serial number on the side, and what looks like a makers mark on the flat plane at the socket end. It is also stamped with a small letter 'I'. There has been some pitting, but the bayonet is stable and solid.

1899 patt Cavalry Troopers Sword The 1889 pattern Cavalry Trooper's sword was designed and produced following the various service failures of its predecessors, the 1885 and 1890 pattern. This sword was not popular with troops, the extra long grip proving to be a design flaw because the hand would slide up and down especially when hot and sweaty. The thickness of the metal bowl guard was too thin which caused it to bend and buckle easily. Also it was considered to be an aesthetically unattractive sword , all of which made it unpopular with troopers. Surviving examples tend to have damage to the hilt and guard because of a combination of the original manufacturing flaws , use by cavalry troopers and general ravages of time. In our opinion, these factors add to the interest of this sword to collectors, especially students of , and those interested in the effects of the nineteenth century sword scandals on military history. In this example, the scabbard is stamped Mole, but there is no makers mark on the sword itself. The contract for producing them was shared between Weyersburg Kirschbaum & Co and the RSAF Enfield. The edge of the guard has been turned under, either by accident or design of the user as often these edges were sharp and damaged the uniform. Adams Percussion Revolver by Thomas Horsley of York A Lovely double action Adams 54 bore pistol stamped Thomas Horsley, who was of course a well known gunmaker in York. It is in overall good condition with a very good working action . Approx 70% original blue remaining, but there are patches within the blue of light pitting and grey colouring. Crisp action. Also interesting that the butt cap is engraved to The Hon Mr Stourton BTE. Research has indicated that the Stourton family lived at Holme Hall Allerton at the time that this pistol was made.

Air Borne Para Smock WW2 It is '42 Pattern. Made in 1945 (according to label) It is in very good overall condition except the zipper is missing. All the teeth are present. It has had a professional period repair on the outside (low down on the side under the arm) . On the inside there are some corresponding marks and small tears that look as if they may have been caused by shrapnel as there is also remains of staining in this area. There are some grubby marks on the outside, but nothing to concern too much bearing in mind the age and use of this garment. Please see photographs. British Royal Naval (Reserve) Uniform This is a British Naval Uniform dating to the 19th century. It is in very good condition for its age- no moth that I can see. The sword is in good consition with Victoria cypher on blade and handle. The sword belt is the Victorian heavy leather belt but with King's Crown buckle. The buttons on the uniform are also Kings Crown. This may have been done for the coronation of Edward VII as this is definitely a Victorian uniform, The bullion epaulettes are in near mint condition. They come in their original tin. There is also a tin for the bicorn hat and the whole comes with its original tin trunk with the owners initials. English Civil War Buff Coat- museum quality repro This is an English Civil War officers buff coat. It is a very serious piece of kit. Made to historical specifications of thick traditionally treated hide and lined, it meets museum quality spec and beyond. This is the best that money can buy. Originally purchased to order for Ł1200.00, I am now told it would cost over Ł1400.00. It is in pristine condition. English Civil War Triple Bar Helmet This is a genuine English Civil War helmet. It has a 'triple bar' face guard and fixed neck protector tail. Ear flaps have remains of leather straps rivetted- these look to have been cut off at some point. There is some rusting to the earflaps and face guard, but overall the helmet is in solid stable condition with a dark age patina. There is a makers mark aboove the left ear flap. The hinge of the triple bar has had a crude repair to it- possibly contemporary. An extremely desirable item and rare opportunity to own a piece of English History. More photos available on request. French l1822 percussion musket A French infantry musket, that has been converted to percussion, overall length 55.5 inches and with a 40.5 inch barrel, it is full stocked with steel mounts and barrel bands. These muskets were also used in the Crimea and American Civil War. Although converted from a flintlock, they have a rifled barrel. Indo Persian Sword Firangi Blade measurement 37" Blade tip has possibly been broken at some time and filed to form new tip. Single fuller. Edge is slightly gimped towards the end and is very sharp, Some dark patching but otherwise sound and flexible. Overall length 44" to include curved tang finial. Hilt sound and solid. From Wikipedia "Because of its length the firangi is usually regarded as primarily a cavalry weapon. Illustrations suggest a 16th century date for the development of the sword, though early examples appear to have had simpler cross-guard hilts, similar to those of the talwar. The sword is especially associated with the Marathas, who were famed for their cavalry.[2] However, the firangi was widely used by the Mughals and those peoples who came under their rule. Images of Mughal potentates holding firangis, or accompanied by retainers carrying their masters' firangis, suggest that the sword became a symbol of martial virtue and power. Photographs of Indian officers of Hodson's Horse (an irregular cavalry unit raised by the British) show that the firangi was still in active use at the time of the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58."

Jacobite Dirk Overall length 19" (48.5 cm) approx Blade length 14.75" (37.5) approx Blade width at forte 1.5" (3.5cm) approx The blade shows signs of age but is solid. There is a maers stamp on both sides of the blade, which is for Solingen 1560-1610 maker Wundes Johannes which would suggest that the dirk's blade has been made from a broken sword. This was a very common practice. The hilt is made up of carved bone and brass mounts. This dirk was on display at the Culloden Museum Centre and comes with an insurance assessment made at the time for the Scottish National Trust. It also comes with a Wallis and Wallis catalogue from the 1990s when this dirk was purchased at auction. A rare opportunity to own an an original accreditted dirk.

Fishskin handle unusually bound with leather sageo rather than silk to traditional design. This looks contemporary with WW2 military tsuba and furniture, although the menuki are of civilian design. Possibly indicates customisation by a senior officer. Plain steel scabbard. Blade is in good polish with no marks.

katana Blade-Late koto period/early Shinto C1600- unsigned-with midare hamon-showing superb activity-good curvature probably by Bizen smith-nice heavy bladed fighting sword-iron sukashi tsuba-C1700-showing water pool with brass/guilded fish jumping-plain iron fuchi-turbulent ocean kashira-the tsuka displays elephant hair bind-a rare form of binding that cannot be replicated in modern times-originaly only the finest swords were bound in this way-so this sword would have had a significant history to the family who previously owned it-to merit such an expensive bind to the tsuka-the saya has been nicely restored in an antique/tasteful style and has buffalo horn mounts with an iron kojiri in the form of a suspended bat-the Japanese symbology for long life and good health.the blade is in full and superb polish with one small kisu/flaw and a couple of minor openings to the hada-totaly acceptable in a blade of such great age-this in no way detracts from a genuine and superb sword that has a beautiful and solid feel and has served numerous previous Samurai owners over centuries.

Late 18th century Sgian Dubh Designed by John Barnett. This is based on specimens of the late 18th century . The hilt is carved in a vigurious Celtic style which had been a feature on fighting dirks and daggers for the previous century. The dagger by this time was very much a dress weapon worn in the sock. However it still had a functional feel and look. To house this weapon a metal mounted leather sheath was used. This is a style the Sgian Dubh took in a transitional form between the Sgian Acklais and the later more recognisable sgian dubh. In brown

There ahs been some light pitting to the metal work, but the proof marks are good and clear. This is a very interesting pistol, which we sold ourselves a while ago. The previous owner has had to reluctantly let it go. The trigger guard is engraved with C.P.F.A. Pearl. - possibly HMS Pearl- but worthy of more research.

Pair of brass barrelled officer flintlock pistols by A.W.Spies A nice pair of London made pistols. The lock is stamped with A.W. Spies who was a well known New York gun dealer of the early 19th century. As these have brass barrels, they were probably used by a Naval officer. The condition is very good for age. Please do not hesitate to request more photos or information if interested in this item.

Pata sword gauntlet Blade length 39" Overall length 51" Double fullered blade. Retains sharp edge. Some dark patching but sound and flexible. Guantlet has some ptting to inside and outside has dark fogging, but decorative design still visible shows this was once highly ornate pata. A Pata (Devangari पट) or sword gauntlet is a bladed weapon from Northern India much like a short sword, except that the blade is integrated in a gauntlet. (The use of the term Pata vs. the Devangari पट possibly dates to Portuguese terminology for the claw or hoof which the weapon resembles). In use, it could be employed similar to a katar, though the additional support from being laid along the forearm may have allowed them to be used as a slashing weapon too. It was considered to be a highly effective weapon for Infantrymen against heavily armoured cavalry. The Pata gradually evolved from 10 inch long Katar to sometimes as long as 44 inch long, double edged weapon. Shivaji was believed to be a prominent user of this weapon during his time. One of his generals, Tanaji Malusare, used the weapon with both his hands during the Battle of Sinhagad, before one of his hands was cut off. Emperor Akbar also used this weapon during the siege of Gujarat. The Rajput warriors are known to have used this weapon very effectively during Mughal Period. They also developed variations of Pata with matchlock pistols adjoining the handle too. One of the best collections of this weapon can be seen at the Durbar Hall, Shiva Nivas Palace, at Udaipur, Rajasthan. The erstwhile rulers – the Royal Family of Mewar owns the collection. It is displayed along with many other Medieval Weapons.

The trigger guard has ornate scrolling. There is a lion's head grotesque at the butt. There is a compartment to on the butt which opens to allow a shoulder stiock to be fitted. Overall length 14.5"

Turkish half-crescent and star are present on all major steel parts of bayonet and scabbard. CONDITION: Fine. The blade shows some occasional patina and some small dark stains. Trench dagger / fighting knife This is an interesting piece-if in better condition I would have been suspicious that it was not right ie altered-not necessarily during the war-however this dagger looks like a good honest piece. It started life as a good quality German dress bayonet, and then has been altered to a trench dagger/fighting knife. The stud has been removed from the scabbard, possibly for ease of keeping in the boot. The scabbard has not been shortened , possibly for the same reason- ie keeping in the boot.

Victorian Rifles officers sword This is an early Victorian example of a Volunteer Rifle Regt officer's sword. It has a steel hilt, the guard pierced with a crowned buglehorn within an oval cartouche, the handle is covered in fish-skin and bound with wire the slightly curved blade is approx 29.5 inches in length and is etched- the etching is clearly visible but feint in places.

wakisashi- Blade-Koto period-suragi-cut down from an earlier sword-has 4 mekugi ana (peg holes) an indicator of great age-this sword could well date between C1500-1600 era and is in exellent full polish showing a superb midare hamon rich with activity-plain iron tsuba-fuchi/kashira on iron with light vine scrollwork-the tsuka has an unusual rattan wrap-may have been laquered at some time-buffalo horn mounts to the restored saya-the kozuka-by-knife has a signed blade-"mino seki -family name?- Kane tori and this smith is listed as working around 1716-the hilt of the kozuka is in copper with dragon releif.All in all a nice old wakisashi-the blade has no major flaws other than one or two light openings to the grain of the hada-remarkable for such an old and no doubt well used sword.

Black painted (we understand this is original paint) metal sheath.

WW2 Home Guard I believe this to be a Home Guard holster for a Webley, or would possibly fit the S&W Victory model. These holsters are hard to find. Brown pigskin leather holster for a Webley Revolver. Inside it has an internal sleeve for the cleaning rod.Stampt into the leather a WD crows foot arrow above '28'. The press stud is made by "N.B. Ltd". To the rear it has two belt loops.
